Well, spring is here and it’s still raining so we thought we’d try and bring you something new and exciting to give your image a pre-summer overhaul!

Danielle has been off to London to learn all about Great Lengths hair extensions. Now fully qualified in the art of application she’s come back to the salon to pass on her wisdom and get us all going mad for long hair.

The idea of getting a hair boost was more than Chelsie (our salon junior) could resist, and she was quick to get a consultation with Danielle “I was impressed by the level of detail Danielle went into with me to ensure I had exactly what I wanted. It really gives you the assurance that you are in safe hands!”

After the length of hair was decided and the colour matched, Danielle contacted Great Lengths to order the hair, which arrived at the salon the very next day. By the end of the next day, Chelsie was the proud owner of long, rapunzelesque hair!

What we like about Great Lengths is that the method of application is really gentle and the results discreet but fabulous. Once all the extensions are individually bonded in, the hair is cut and blended to create a seamless finish. Danielle will tell you how to maintain your new hair and even book you in for a complimentary check-up and blow dry. You are even provided with a free gift set to help with the aftercare.

Three months on, Chelsie has this to say “I love how easy it has been to maintain my new hair. Having the choice to wear my hair in different styles has been fantastic and I’m overwhelmed by the compliments I’ve been having!”

We are very pleased to be one of only a handful of fully qualified Hair Extension Specialists in Cardiff to offer Great Lengths extensions and the support and knowledge of the entire salon team ensures an excellent client service. Whatever your reason for wanting long hair, give us a call and get your consultation booked. You won’t regret it!

So you've just been to visit your favourite hair salon and walked out looking a million dollars. The next time you wash your hair what happens?

So you’ve just been to visit your favourite hair salon and walked out looking a million dollars. The next time you wash your hair what happens?

What!? You can’t acheive the same result!! Why?

Think about it. When does your look at its best? In the salon of course – so why is that?

The staff members at your hair salon use the most advanced products on the market and have on-going training to match. They want to use the best products out there and achieve the best results with their work.

They can create a bespoke collection of products to achieve your latest look for you to replicate at home. They will give you the knowledge on what each product is for, how much to use and how to apply, plus a hands-on how-to at each step of your service.

Does any supermarket assistant do that for you? Would you trust them?

So you buy your hair care products from a supermarket, what influences that choice?

Price?

Smell?

Colour?

Ever thought how fast you go through a bottle? What does it actually do for your hair? A quick fix in a bottle, that’s all. You pour half a bottle of shampoo into your hand, in the thought that somehow it will work better.

All you are doing is masking the problem and not fixing it.

Pro products only need a small amount to work. They work from the inside of the hair outwards, thus achieving a shampoo and condition that will last longer than just a week, with no build up of product.

You can also use pro hair masks for really intense treatment that give your hair that extra boost when needed. Hair that gets better and better over time. These are the foundations towards your final result of perfect healthy hair.

Then of course you have your styling regime!

Pro products can cover any scenario of hair style out there from the catwalk to the streets.

These are the tools that stylists use to create their art, without them we wouldn’t be able to give you such great looking styles to leave the salon with.

Your hair is the material that we work with; these products make fine hair full of volume, coarse hair smooth and soft. Products that do exactly what they say they do – and more!

We choose to use these products to perfect your look and I’m guessing you want your hair to look like this all the time, so why would you use anything else?

Make us proud of our work…..

Perfecting your style can sometimes be a tricky task, so to make our job a little easier here are a few helpful hints on getting the best from your stylist, every time.

Perfecting your style can sometimes be a tricky task, so to make our job a little easier here are a few helpful hints on getting the best from your stylist, every time.

A picture speaks a thousand words

When considering a new hairstyle putting together a mood board of pictures you like can really help us get a good idea of what you want. If you haven’t got any pictures we’ve got plenty of hair magazines here, and even an iPad you can use. Take into consideration the models face shape and hair texture and compare it to your own to ensure you get the most accurate result as possible.

Time waits for no man

A good stylist is usually a busy stylist so leaving plenty of time to get to your appointment will mean that they get to spend every valuable minute concentrating on you. Bear in mind parking is a bit tricky in Cardiff. Turning your mobile off when you arrive is a good idea too.

Forewarned is forearmed

When booking your appointment, be as descriptive as possible. If your hair is particularly long or thick, let us know so we can book extra time.

Ship-shape and Bristol fashion

While you’re having your hair done, sit straight in your chair (without arms or legs crossed) as this will maximise your natural balance and help your stylist achieve balance in your style.

You’ll get by with a little help from your friends

Part of our success in achieving your desired style is the products we use from our friends at Wella. We believe salon professional products are far superior to anything you can buy in the supermarket and you can be sure that the products we recommend are the right ones for your hair type/style. The products are more concentrated so they’ll last longer – and it’s better than taking your chances with a ‘lucky dip’ on the shopping aisle!

Welcome to the all new Guy Christian Salon website. As you can see we have completely overhauled the old site to make way for a much more user friendly version.

New features include our snazzy tilt gallery, the blog page, team page with individual profiles, feedback section, improved internet booking system and much more.

We opened our doors for business for the first time on November 2nd 2009, right at the dawn of an economic recession. Despite this we’ve stood the test of time and continued to move forward, proving that quality is both timeless and invaluable.

We believe that our successes have been born from attention to detail and ongoing education, enabling us to offer the best, most personalised service available.

Since the start, it has been our ambition to make a mark on the industry and we believe we’re starting to achieve our aims. With publication in local and national media, a strong web presence and good local reputation, more and more people are finding their way to our doors.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank some of the people that have made Guy Christian Salon both possible and a success.

Firstly Mum and Dad, for your encouragement, faith, support and love, I couldn’t have done it without you.

To my fiancée, Jennie Thomas and my two beautiful children, for sharing me so generously with work.

Thanks to Jenni Taylor, for her support and knowledge on all things web and digital and to Gecko IT for this shiny new website.

Of course, thanks to the Guy Christian Team for working so tirelessly and enthusiastically to achieve our goals.

Last, but never least, thank you to all of our faithful Guy Christian Salon clients, without you we wouldn’t be here doing our thing!
